Delete Your Zaplon Account
Zaplon, developed by Arshman Shahid, lets you permanently delete your account and the personal data attached to it. You do not need to ask permission and you do not need a reason.
This page covers both apps:
- Zaplon — the customer app, used to find and book salons. Deletable inside the app.
- Zaplon Owner — the salon app, used by salon owners to manage their listing, bookings and earnings. Also deletable inside the app, with one condition: your salon must have no upcoming bookings.
The two are not the same operation. A customer account is erased outright. A salon account erases the owner's personal data but closes the salon rather than erasing it, because its booking history belongs to the customers who booked it. The salon owners section below covers exactly what that means.
Method 1 — Delete in the app (fastest)
Available in both apps. Deletion takes effect immediately.
Zaplon (customer app)
- Open the Zaplon app.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete my account.
- Confirm when asked. This cannot be undone.
Zaplon Owner (salon app)
- Open the Zaplon Owner app.
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete Account.
- Read the summary and tap Delete Permanently. This cannot be undone.
If your salon still has upcoming bookings the app will stop you and say so. Cancel those bookings, or wait until they have been served, then delete. Nothing is changed on your account when this happens.
Your session is signed out on the spot and your login is invalidated on our servers. Your mobile number is released, so you can sign up again later as a new user — nothing from the old account carries over.
Method 2 — Request deletion by email
Use this if you can no longer sign in to either app, or if you want us to close a salon account for you.
- Email support@zaplon.pk.
- Use the subject line “Account Deletion Request”.
- Include the mobile number your account is registered with, so we can identify it.
- We process the request within 7 business days and email you to confirm.
Send the email from the address or number on the account. For a salon account we do the same thing the in-app button does, described below.
What is deleted immediately
The moment you confirm, the following is erased from our systems. This applies to both apps — some entries only exist for one of them, and what additionally happens to a salon is in the next section.
- Personal information — your name, mobile number, email address and profile photo.
- Location — the last coordinates stored for distance sorting.
- Active bookings — every upcoming booking is automatically cancelled, the time slot is freed, and the salon is notified.
- Wallet balance — any referral credit is zeroed. An unspent balance is forfeited and cannot be recovered or paid out, so redeem it before you delete if you want to keep it.
- Saved salons — your bookmarks are deleted outright.
- Referral code — released, so it no longer points at you.
- Push notification tokens — the device token issued by Expo and Google is removed and notifications are switched off.
- Contact details in feedback — any email address you typed into a support message is cleared.
- Authentication — your session is revoked and your login token stops working on our servers.
Salon owners — what happens to your salon
A salon account is not just a person. It owns a listing customers book, a booking history those customers can still see, and commission records that are part of our accounts. So deletion splits in two: you are erased, your salon is closed.
Immediately, when you confirm
- Your salon leaves the customer app — it disappears from search and browsing, can no longer be booked, and drops out of the saved lists of customers who bookmarked it.
- Your contact number — the number shown on the salon listing is erased along with your personal profile.
- Future billing stops — no further weekly commission bill is ever generated for the salon.
- Unpaid commission is forfeited — any bill still outstanding is written off as uncollectible. It is marked, not deleted, so the record of what was billed stays accurate.
The one thing that blocks deletion
You cannot delete your account while your salon has upcoming bookings — anything booked for today onwards that has not yet been served or cancelled. The app will tell you and change nothing. Cancel those bookings from the app, or wait until they are done, then delete. This is deliberate: delisting a salon that customers are holding reservations at would leave them with an appointment at a business they can no longer find or contact.
What stays, and what it is not
The salon record itself survives in a closed state. Nobody can see it in either app, and it is no longer linked to you by name or number — it is kept because other people's records point at it:
- Past bookings — a customer who visited your salon keeps that entry in their own booking history, including the salon name and address it was made under.
- Commission bills and payments — what was billed, what was collected, and what was written off, for tax and accounting purposes.
- Reviews customers wrote — they belong to the customers who wrote them, not to the salon.
- Service and staff lists — closed along with the salon and invisible in both apps. If you want staff names and photos removed outright, email us and we will do it.
Deleting your account does not reopen anywhere else. If you come back to Zaplon later you register as a new user and set up a new salon from scratch — the old listing, its reviews and its ratings do not return.
What is kept, and why
A small amount of data survives deletion because it belongs to a salon's books rather than to your profile. None of it stays linked to your name or number — it is permanently detached from your identity and cannot be traced back to you.
| Kept | Reason | Period |
|---|---|---|
| Anonymised booking records | Salon accounting — a salon must be able to reconcile the appointments it served | 6 years |
| Anonymised wallet transaction ledger entries | Salon commission and referral credit records | 6 years |
| Reviews and ratings you wrote | So salon ratings stay accurate. They are detached from your identity and shown as anonymous | Indefinite, anonymous |
| Closed salon listing (owner accounts) | Delisted and invisible in the app, but past bookings and commission bills refer to it. Detached from the owner's name and number | 6 years |
| Commission bills, payments and write-offs (owner accounts) | Tax and accounting records of what was billed and collected | 6 years |
| Feedback and support messages | Support record, with your contact email removed | 2 years |
The six-year period on financial records is set by Pakistani tax and accounting record-keeping requirements. The full retention table for every category of data is in section 6 of our Privacy Policy.
